Low Cost Halloween Yard Display

This is a cheap but effective display we came up with last year. You just need a few things you can get from the dollar store: green colored balloons, balloon sticks, white/grey poster board, black felt markers, and silver foil/duct tape. 

First cut long bodies from the poster board, mark them up to look like alien skin or spacesuits, and tape them to the balloon sticks with the feet a few inches up from the bottom of the stick (leave enough for it to be driven into the ground). Then inflate the balloons, cut out evil looking eyes from the silver foil/duct tape, use the felt markers to draw a snarling mouth, and attach the finished head to the balloon sticks. Voila! 

Place as many as you can around the yard and a few heads looking out from the windows.

I tried to make UFOs but that was less successful. Just use your creativity to add other details. I had an E.T. stuffed toy that I put in chains at the door and a toy Yoda head that was in a bowl filled with blood. I also had 20 feet of green slime wall decorations hanging from the roof. This year, I am going to add aliens on the roof of the cars parked outside the house using bent coat hangers. Let me know what you come up with!
